The Friulane are set to be one of the trends of 2022 too!
Friulane – also known as ‘furlane’ or ‘veneziane’ – are traditional footwear from north-eastern Italy.
Featuring a rubber sole with colourful velvet embellishment, the Friulane were created in the 19th century and immediately became very popular with Venetian nobles, as they allowed them to move during the night without being heard (the rubber sole is very silent).
They soon became the favourite footwear for gondoliers too, as the rubber gave them more stability when standing. In recent years, they have become much-loved must-haves thanks to their practicality and elegance.
NiS Friulane for outdoor and indoor use
This year, we’ve made two Friulane styles: The Sara – refined outdoor slippers – and the Saretta – warm indoor footwear.
The Sara is made, as per tradition, with a rubber sole and the velvet comes in two colours: burgundy and green.
The Saretta is an indoor Friulane, which is perfect for feeling put together at home.
They feature a suede sole and wool finishes to keep your feet warm at all times.
They are available in two versions: white and pink.
